A band that became an integral part of the Britpop movement will release a new album for the first time in 24 years.

Pulp’s album “More” will be released on June 6, the band wrote in an Instagram post Thursday.

The band has already released “Spike Island” as the lead single off “More.” Fans can listen to the song on any streaming platform and pre-order “More” on Pulp’s website.

“More” will be Pulp’s first album since 2001’s “We Love Life.“

“The album was recorded over three weeks by James Ford in Walthamstow, London, starting on November 18th, 2024,” Pulp’s frontman Jarvis Cocker wrote in the Instagram post.

“This is the shortest amount of time a Pulp album has ever taken to record in the modern era,“ he added. “It was obviously ready to happen.”

Cocker said “More” started to materialize during Pulp’s tour in 2023. The band had practiced a new song called “Hymn of the North” during sound checks and eventually played it at the end of their second night at Sheffield Arena.

“This seemed to open the floodgates: we came up with the rest of the songs on this album during the first half of 2024. A couple are revivals of ideas from last century,” Cocker wrote in the Instagram post. “These are the facts. We hope you enjoy the music. It was written & performed by four human beings from the North of England, aided & abetted by five other human beings from various locations in the British Isles. No A.I. was involved during the process.”

Cocker added that “More” is dedicated to Steve Mackey, Pulp’s later drummer who died in 2023.

“This is the best that we can do,” Cocker wrote. “Thanks for listening.”

Formed in Sheffield, England in 1978, Pulp has released seven studio albums to date, starting with 1983’s “It.”

While the band struggled to find initial success, Pulp’s fame grew in the U.K. in the mid-1990s with the albums “His ‘n’ Hers” (1994) and “Different Class” (1995).

“Different Class” spawned four top 10 singles, including the No. 2 hits “Common People” and “Mis-Shapes/Sorted for E’s & Wizz.” The album also topped the UK Albums Chart and won the Mercury Prize.

Pulp continued its success with 1998’s “This Is Hardcore.” The album also debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

At the band’s peak, Pulp headlined the Pyramid Stage of the Glastonbury Festival twice and were regarded among the Britpop “big four” alongside Oasis, Blur and Suede.

Pulp took a decade-long break after releasing “We Love Life.” The band has reunited several times and released the song “After You” in 2013.

“More” features 11 tracks. The album will be available on LP, CD and cassette, including several limited-edition vinyl formats that will only be available on Pulp’s website.
